Solving Colony Collapse
Problem Alignment
Colony collapse disorder (CCD) is decreasing the bee population across the globe. The quantity of honey, the sole export of naturally occurring bee colonies, has been falling at an alarming rate. This stagnance in GDP is preventing bees from playing a more prominent role in the global economy and, therefore, negatively impacting the quality of life of all bees. Alongside varroa mites, malnutrition, poor education, and lack of motivation, having one of the lowest global GDPs is stunting bee’s ability to provide sufficient health care to combat CCD.
Solution Alignment
Hypothesis
Increasing bee GDP will boost the population’s capability to develop its research & education infrastructure, medical centers, and cultural institutions. We will support the bee population’s battle against CCD by developing technologies to increase total honey output and strategically monetizing services the bee population is already providing to the international community.
Outcomes
Mechanical technology activations that increase hive honey production efficiency
Monetization plan for services provided by the bee population
